FORmat

For this first tournament, since we have six players, we’re going to format the tournament like this:

FIRST ROUND: three groupings of two players each (selected at random). You’ll play each other twice on the same day (ideally). Keep reading :)

SECOND ROUND: four players advance, based on their first-round records and their total score. So sorta like a soccer tournament. A win is worth three points. A loss is worth zero points. Hopefully there won’t be any ties. There will be a top seed, who will play the bottom seed. Seeds number 2 and 3 will play each other. Same rules to advance: three points for a win, zero points for a loss, but total points are the deciding factor.

FINALS: two games. If each player wins one game, total points decide the winner.

Not gonna get in the weeds on this; normal Scrabble rules apply. Biggest issue is the source for confirming words. We’ll use the Merriam-Webster Scrabble Word Finder: https://scrabble.merriam.com/
